History
Early historyLost Pages was founded in 2012 by Paolo Greco, who recently had decided that academia was frustrating as hell. Barely employed, from of a desk make of loudspeakers and a cabinet door they developed 'Adventure Fantasy Game', and then went off to release a series of spellbooks, including some bound by hand by Paolo, who dabbles in bookbinding and printmaking. This helped grow a strong and idiosincratic aesthetic, made in equal measures of 17th century pamphlets, medieval grimoires, and 20th century technical handbooks, often at the same time both game material and in-world artefact and prop.
PublishingLost Pages soon after became a publisher, and released other games such as Chris McDowell's 'Into the Odd', Brendan Strejcek's 'Wonder & Wickedness', and Eric Nieudan's 'Macchiato Monsters', who all went to gained recognition and success, inspiring a slew of other games and creations.
Book of GaubLost Pages in 2020 completes its first kickstarted campaign for the 'Book of Gaub', a creepy horror spellbook inspired by titles such as Babadook, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, Stephen King’s works like Misery and The Shining. Written by a collective of seven authors, the Lost Pages' first kickstarter, Book of Gaub is major turning point for the publisher: the budget was finally enough for Paolo to flex his book design skills and produce a beautiful handbook, bound in duo-tone blue-purple cloth, with an embossed cover, fine Munken cream paper, and a cohesive aesthetic and mood despite being written by a crowd.
